Don’t sell your coffee in someone else’s coffee shop.

It’s Friday – Let’s talk Social Media Manners.

If your product was coffee, would you bring your coffee into Starbucks, setup shop at a table and start soliciting people to buy your coffee? Hmmm… probably not.  You are likely to get rude stares from the Starbucks customers and kicked out of the store.

Same social norms should be applied online. We often see people going to their competitors Instagram posts and dropping messages about their product. No No No.

Don’t comment on your competitors feeds with derogatory comments or promoting your brand. You are likely to get blocked (kicked out) and give a bad impressions of your brand (rude stares).

Do use your competitors for market research by engaging with those customers on the customers posts. Comment  on their posts to create brand recognition of your handle, create a relationship, and add value for your potential customer.

Are you using your Social Media Manners to interact with your competitors customers?
